Second Glass – Welcome to Wedding Wine HQ

April 5, 2019
By Shannon Burrows

Welcome to this week’s Second Glass!
Big congratulations to Argyle Wines’ customer appreciation draw winners. Laurie Leis, Colleen Adams, Dolly Brooks and Shelly Hansen each won an Argyle Wines Listowel $50 gift certificate.
One of my favourite things about my bottling shop is working with our customers. What fun it was to call the winners and share the good news. It seems winning wine makes customers happy, making customers happy makes me happy, so together we were all just very happy, wine-loving people. A highlight of my week, to be sure.
I held this draw as a way to say thank you to my wonderful customers. Everyone who made a purchase of any amount over the month of March was automatically entered. This contest was met with great enthusiasm, so I will definitely have more draws in the future.

Toasting your big day

If you are a bride- or groom-to-be or know someone who is, this blog is for you. Let’s talk about wedding wine.
Over the years, Argyle Wines Listowel has assisted hundreds of couples from miles around in selecting the varieties they’ll serve on their wedding day. While wedding season in the bottle shop used to spike in the early spring, then again in the fall, crafting wedding wine has become so popular that wedding season now starts Jan. 2 and lasts straight through to November.
Quick facts:

  1. Argyle offers hundreds of varieties, from sweet to dry, light to full bodied and everything in between. (If you don’t know what you want, don’t worry! That’s what I’m here for. I love helping couples navigate the options, and I won’t stop until you’re happy.) Wines take between four to eight weeks to complete. If you wish to age your wine for optimal awesomeness, don’t hesitate to inquire about ordering ahead of time.
  2. Craft winemaking is extremely budget friendly, without compromising one drop on quality. Depending on your choice of wines and if you’d prefer new bottles, you can expect to pay anywhere from under $5 per bottle to just shy of $8. All prices include taxes, customized labels, corks and foil shrink caps. No surprise costs.
  3. Bottling is simple, efficient and fun. Many times my brides and grooms bring along a few family members, friends or members of the wedding party to their wine-bottling appointment. There’s always lots of laughs, and first-timers quickly get over any bottling jitters and marvel at how fast and easy the process is. A member of the Argyle team is there to assist you every step of the way.
  4. We’ll match your style. Casual backyard event to formal dining hall, barbecued ribs to filet mignon, Argyle has the wine to suit your unique vision for this most special day.

On a side note, we also offer options for wedding guest favours, and thank-you gifts for those who contributed to your big event. Everyone loves getting wine!
As always, we are here to help. Never hesitate to call, email or visit with your questions. You’ll enjoy welcoming, informative, no-pressure service.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
